The door opens easily, swinging into the room. The room is empty of people, other than that it is identical to Kevon's room.
Muffled voices begin downstairs, as the Defenders and the bar staff engage in conversation. After a moment, there are some thumps, and the sound of the barmaids voice rises up the stairs. "I said NO!"
Silence, then a crash, then what sounds like heavy boots thumping on the floor reaches the party's ears.
Byron- The paper is empty except for an X where the man wishes you to sign.
He continues smiling, "It is you who misunderstand. I merely wish to help you. If you will not sign, I have other ways to get what I want, and making you my thrall hurts me not at all. I think you would prefer to retain some measure of your individuality, though, correct? Sign, and serve me freely, and I will not destroy your mind. And the rewards will be greater than your wildest imaginings."
The floor mosaic reflects green and golden, it is now a serpent slithering through the grass. The table is scratched and worn, and the goblet of wine is now made of some sort of green gem, possibly jade.
A piercing scream echoes through the room. The man's smile slips for a moment, but it is back so quickly you may have imagined it. "That is the sound of those who oppose me, and those who fail me. Sign the paper, or you shall share their fate."
Quasar quickly gets into the room. He closes the door and flattens himself against the wall next to it. He puts the club back in his backpack and takes out two daggers, one per hand. The magician listens in silence.
Forthan will move from the room and head down to the main level. IF the defenders stop him he will simply say he was trying to save a life but failed and now he must wash the blood of his hands. They are more than welcome to go up and see the body if they so chose. Forthan will bless them in the name of the Allstar.
At this point, Byron is almost scared out of his wits. Trying to retain some measure of external coolness (although sweating profusely from the temples), he manages to act as though he still retains some level of self will. "Well, it seems you know me very well. It's hard for me to turn down large amounts of wealth and riches." He then reaches over and signs the page.
Zed enters the same room with Quasar. Zed still has the dagger pointed at Kevon, he retains his composure knowing The Defenders could walk up to the room at any time. "If The Defenders walk in we'll tell the we had caught the murderer and we'll turn in Kevon"
Forthan - There are four large men wearing blue lacquered studded armor, each with a sword on his hip. Their helms are thickly fur rimmed, giving the illusion of them having manes. The man in front has knots of rank on his chest, he wears a thick beard and has sharp eyes. The barmaid is on the ground to the side of the door, and Riley huddles over her protectively.
"This town is shrouded in darkness, you understand?" The Captain says in an authoritative voice, "We have seen an astounding number of incidents in this tavern recently. You see, trouble occurs where trouble is brewed. We are shutting you down, for the good of the town. One less den of inequity."
He sees Forthan coming down the stairs. "Hail stranger, and halt!" The three men behind the captain draw their swords.
He listens to Forthans explanation intently, "I will take a look at this body, but you are under arrest. Our Truthseekers will determine the merit of your words. Come with me."
He looks at you expectantly.
Byron - "Very good." The man says. He chuckles softly, and the illusion slips away before your eyes. "Find the Magician Quasar. Speak not a word of this." The room fades into blackness, and you awaken in your jail cell in the fishing village of Plaeti.
A City Watchmen is rattling the door to your cell. "Hey thief! Your sentence is up. Get up, and get out!"
The Watchmen unlocks the door and throws your gear in your face.
"Yeah, that's what we shall do", answers Quasar in agreement. Then, to Kevon: "All this mess is because of you so don't expect any mercy".
Quasar will examine the room. In particular, he wants to check if the door has a key: if yes, he will lock it. He also wants to check the window to see where it faces and how high is from the ground.
Byron quickly grabs his things and leaves, not wanting to bother the short-tempered watchman. As he emerges onto the main street, he glances around at the buildings around to try and gain his bearings. After locating where he is, he immediately heads for the nearest tavern in order to try and garner some information with regard to this "Quasar."
