The voice coming from the alley hits Quasar like a punch in the stomach. "Who is that halfling and why he has to be right there right now?", he asks to himself. The magician looks at his companions with a worried expression. Not knowing what else to do, he leans out of the window and brings his index to the nose in the universal sign for "Silence!". He then waves his hand in short and rapid vertical movements to tell the newcomer to move away.
Quasar stays next to the quarterstaff while Zed descends into the alley. The magician will hold the two edges of the long staff, ready to block it if it slips past the window. When the elf will be down, he will invite Arathriel to be the next keeping a dagger at ready and aimed towards the noisy halfling.
Delighted, Byron guesses that there's some mischef to be had so he gladly complies with the strange man in the hope of joining in on whatever trouble they're causing. He steps back and out of the way to let the elf find stable footing in the muddy alleyway.
Forthan - The shackles are tight on your wrists as the guard march you out to the street. Both Riley and the Barmaid stumble along next to you, the guards half supporting them by their shackles. Their injuries do not appear to be severe, though they both have blood trickling down their scalps. As you step through the doorway, the guard holding the barmaid stops. "I think I heard something down the alley, take her." He passes the barmaid off to the guard supporting Riley. The lone guard approaches the mouth of the alley cautiously, sword drawn and at the ready.
Quasar/Zed/Arathriel - Zed slides down the rope with no troubles, and the quarterstaff seems securely braced, as long as pressure remains on it.
Byron - As you stand in the alley, looking up at the people climbing out the window, you hear a soft thump from the mouth of the alley, back the way you came.
Out of Game : The window is maybe 60 ft deep into the alley from the front of the tavern.
Thinking quickly, Byron pulls an old bone out from his pocket (you never know when you'll need these things in jail) and walks out of the alley confidently pretending to gnaw something off the bone so as to avoid suspicion.
