The farmer responds to Forthan and Arathriel, as they work. "We'll save that for later, after we've got some hot food in our bellies."
He leads the way to the farmhouse after they finish stabling the horses.
It is a large house, with pieces that don't quite fit, as though many different carpenters had built it over the course of many years. A cozy front room is visible through the windows. A large fire roars on a hearth, and a plump old woman sits crocheting, illuminated in the fire light.
The old farmer opens the door and steps inside, "Well Maudie, I'm home. And I've brought company! Some nice lads I met in town today. They agreed to do some work in exchange for a bed and meal."
Maudie scowls disapprovingly.
"Maud', they were soaked to the bone! And with the boys gone and all...I thought..." He trails off under her glare.
"Well, bring them in, then!" She snaps harshly.
The farmer motions the party to come inside.
Forthan will greet the farmers wife and thank her for her time and effort to place a warm meal and a soothing fire to us in the name of the Allstar. He will bless her meal if she will allow it. Once they retire for the night he will spend time in prayers and devotion to the Allstar for worship and to refill his spells.
Quasar gets inside the house and, after greeting the farmer's wife in a polite way, he will take off his cloak and ask where he can hang it or if he has to leave it outside. He will also ask permission to sit by the fire to get his clothes and his bones dry.
Quasar will eat, if offered food, then wait for the farmer to explain what is expected from the group.
Arathriel will look at the door depending on its naturehe will determine if he should take off his muddy boots so as to create more work for his gracious hostees. He will thenn ask permission to put his clothes near fire to dry, making sure not to put his laethers to near the fire. He will ask the farmers wife if there was anything he could do to be.of use before taking a seat
Maudie takes a good look at each party member as they come in, frowning and glaring at you in a forward manner.
She snickers to her husband at Forthan's words, "The Allstar, eh? We don't have time for that nonsense out here on the farm. Gods and Goddesses are all well and good for city folk, but we out here have to make due with our own two hands, and no Gods to aid us."
To Quasar and Arathriel she responds hurriedly, "Yes, yes, be seated and be quiet, I am busy. Leave your cloaks and things by the door, there's hooks in the wall."
After a moment, she sighs and stands up, walking through an open door frame into another room.
The farmer exhales a sigh of relief.
There are two chairs in the room, both padded. A small table rests between the two chairs. Two cabinets rest against the back wall, as well as a small bookshelf. Several dolls line the top of the cabinets, male dolls made to look like soldiers and knights. An oil painting rests above the hearth of a younger looking Maudie and the farmer with three boys of varying ages. The Maudie in the picture has a beautiful, matronly smile.
The room Maudie went into is North, and is connected by a very short hallway. The hearth blazes on the Eastern side of the room, and the exit is on the Southern side
Byron - As you walk around the room, you are able to see a few things the others cannot. The room Maudie went into is clearly a kitchen of some sort, and the hallway contains two shut doors, one on the East side and one on the West. A small chest rests in between the two cabinets. You notice Maudie watching you from the other room, just for a second, then she vanishes again.
