The journey to the turning is uneventful. It takes about two hours walking down the cart road, surrounded by trees. Until you reach the flag the farmer spoke of. A small game trail runs straight up the side of the mountain, and seems to be the trail the farmer spoke of. The trees are dense, though the trail is plainly visible, and obviously well worn.

The magicians examines the narrow road for some time. "Arathriel and you, Zed, could scout ahead while the rest of us will follow at a distance. Maybe the small guy can act as a rearguard to make sure nobody sneaks on us from behind. Me and the Holy Man will rely on Kevon for our defense". Hoping he will not go out of mind again, he adds mentally.

Oinodaemon's "Into The Darkness" 3.5 RPG Archive Pathfinder / D&D

Arathriel will volunteer to lead if the rest of the party is agreeable as he assumes he has the most experience in the forest. While waiting for a consensus Arathriel wrap his chain around his right hand and hold his axe with his left. If the party agrees to his leading Arathriel will ask that who ever is in the back that they keep a watchful eye out as well constantly scanning the trees and trail behind them, in the hopes that they will some how spot an ambush coming. Before they continue forward Arathriel will check the path to see if the path has been traveled recently and if so by who, what and how many.

Zed darts into the woods to act as a scout as per Quasar's request.

Arathriel's inspection of the ground shows that the path has been recently traveled by many small mammals. Rabbit tracks are most in evidence.

Quasar agrees with Arathriel. "You look at ease in this environment, take the lead if you wish so. We will stay behind and follow your instructions".
This said, the magician prepares himself for the trek trying the soil with the tip of his quarterstaff.

Oinodaemon's "Into Darkness" 3.5 RPG - Page 41

Arathriel takes the lead, walking in front of the party as they climb the mountain. The party proceeds up the trail cautiously. Eventually, the trail reaches a level point,. A smattering of trees surround a medium sized cabin. Wildflowers grow here in abundance, dense in between the trees.

The cabin is old and ramshackle. It looks like the closest side of the building has experienced some fire damage, but the wood still appears solid.

Quasar takes a look at the cabin. "Are we sure that somebody actually lives here?", he whispers to those next to him. The magician stops and carefully looks around.

Out of Character: Quasar uses Spot and Listen. Should I roll or leave it to you?
