Quasar will jump back, putting some distance between him and the Elk, then he will cast Summon Monster targeting an area next to the beast (I don't know what I can summon: same list as the Dungeons & Dragons spell?).
Out of Game: Forthan, I am only using your first rolls for this round, as you only get one attack with a mace on the first round. Next round you will be able to perform two, then back to one. You can keep the rolls you already made for round 2, if you'd like.
Quasar, sorry for not explaining this previously, you may summon any creature of 1 HD or less, as long as it is of True Neutral alignment. This includes animals as well as monsters. You have full control over the summoned creature, also.
In Game: Forthan strikes at the Elk, hitting it solidly near the flanks.
Arathriel lashes out with his chain, but the Elk ducks its head under the blow and counters, smashing Arathriel on the arm. The sound of bones breaking is quite loud in the party's ears. Arathriel maintains his equilibrium and attacks with his axe, slicing deeply into it's front right shoulder.
Kevon charges at the Elk, neatly puncturing its side with his sword.
Quasar casts summon monster, a bright light flashes near the Elk, and a creature of Quasars choice forms seemingly from nothing.
Byron throws a knife at the Elk, but it is unable to penetrate its thick hide.

The Elk turns and rushes Byron. It rears up at the last moment, bringing both of its hooves down on Byrons head. He crumples to the ground, unconscious.
Forthan lands a solid blow to the Elks mid section, near where it was previously stabbed by Kevon. The Elk bleats in pain and stumbles a few steps. (The elk moved, and you had to follow it to attack again, which negates your second attack this round. You got a good blow in, though.)
Arathriel swings at the Elk, but the Elks stumbling causes him to miss the attack.
Kevon also misses his attack. (Forthan notices that Kevon is not very proficient with his longsword and shield set up, and he moves slightly awkwardly for a warrior.)
Quasar orders the viper he summoned to attack the Elk. It strikes quickly, latching on to the Elks foreleg.
The Elk continues to stumble for a moment, bloody froth escaping its lips, then it falls to the ground, chest heaving. It seems to be dying.
End of Combat = Elk - Dying - Poisoned
Forthan - Injured - 7 HP remaining, Bleeding, Broken Rib
Arathriel - Injured - 5 HP remaining, Right arm Broken.
Byron - Dying = -2/ -4
Out of Game: Death occurs on negative your hit points, not negative ten as per Dungeons & Dragons rules. Byron has two hit points left until death. He has 4 hit points maximum and was dealt 6 damage, bringing him to -2 of -4
Quasar can still act while controlling his summoned creature. A summoned creatures initiative will always be one point lower than that of the summoner.
Forthan will head over to bryon and cast heal on him. He will then go over to Arathriel make sure his arm is straight and cast heal on him before healing himself. Once all three heal spells are done he will reassess the situation. Forthan will ask Kevon and Quasar to check around and make sure there are no other animals or dangers nearby to attack us.
