You all agree that Gault's well being is paramount and follow the young warriors through the thick jungle. After about 10 minutes you end up on a small track that seems to be traversed fairly often. After 20 minutes you notice the density of the jungle thins and becomes bushy as you leave the forested areas. Ahead you can see smoke and one warrior says that the village is very close and you will get help.
Another 20 minutes and you begin to see a straw hut village with what looks like celebrations being carried out by very colorfully dressed natives dancing in the center of huts. Your eyes fall on two seated individuals to the far north of the dancers who stand out because of the way they are dressed, much like you are attired! Seth recognizes them.
The young warriors motion you to take Gault to a particular hut set apart from the others. Inside is the wasabi-like smell of incense being burnt that immediately clears your sinuses. In the hut is an old man with grey hairs and various animal bones for a necklace around his neck. The warriors explain what happened and he asks for everyone but Gault to leave.
Meanwhile...
Major and Uhura are surprised to see the other assets arrive to the village but instead enter a hut. They wonder what it is about but do not yet try to find out.
GM: You all are now one group and can post actions. Say what you wish to do now.
Major is able to communicate with Seth and thus the others. You relay messages back and forth about your current circumstances. Uhura tries to pic information during the conversation so everyone has a better idea of rank, position, skills, etc.
Meanwhile...
Artemis decides to do some augmentation to her attire that brings the attention of some of the village women. They approach and ask her to wear their traditional feathers so she can participate in the current festivities.
Around this time...
Your new host bids you to lie down on a hay bed made from forested trees and bamboo. Gault tries to get the shaman into a discussion but he seems either rude or uninterested instead carrying on a meditative chant in various parts of the room as you lay down in pain.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
As Major keeps watch, Seth joins him, they both watch a daring Artemis make herself a model guinea pig for the women of the village who laugh as they frolic around her placing very colorful feathers on her skin with the use of woven straps.
GM: Artemis should roll against Body on the next action.
Meanwhile...
Uhura attempts to make her way to the hut where Gault is being 'seen' to however as soon as she tries to approach she is ushered away by the native warriors,
"No, no, you sit, you celebrate, shaman do it...." they reply.
They do not seem to be interested in any explanation on your part.
At that same time...
Gault tries to ask base about the spider, but you get no response. The shaman continues his chants and even incorporates the sprinkling of dust over your body while chanting something your translator is unable to translate.
GM: The comm is short for communicator which only has communication capabilities back to base. Say what you wish to do now.
GM: We move on with no penalty to Seth given the circumstances of his operator.
As Artemis is fitted with the native's custom feather dress she starts to feel relaxed. In fact, her relaxation turns into a feeling of wellness and then to one of bliss. Anyone looking at Artemis can see that she is dancing in a manner similar to someone that is 'fixed'.
Just then...
Uhura returns to where the others are at around this same time and decides to check her chemical analyzer. Sure enough it reads that there are toxic drugs within the feathers and straps that stimulate dopamine releases in the brain similar to how heroine works.
Around this time...
Major starts a discussion with Seth about their next actions.
Meanwhile...
Back at the shaman's hut, Gault tries to mentally control the pain and discomfort as the shaman takes a mortar and pestle, starts gathering together some herbs with other concoctions and blends it together into what looks like a rough paste.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
As Seth and Major talks - Artemis dances as though she has been taught the moves but as you watch Artemis' rhythm you can see that the native women besides her are equally on a high. You probably did not notice before assuming it was the 'way' they celebrated. Uhura monitors the chemical but the narcotic reads that it should neutralize after some hours of sleep. From the looks of it Artemis is not ready to sleep but is happily being an adoptive native at the moment.
Meanwhile in another part of the village...
Gault sees the shaman come over to him, takes the paste out of the mortar with his right hand and rubs it directly into the wound. You could swear you hear a sizzling sound as you feel the area cool and the pain subside. He then takes his left hand's fingers and opens your mouth... He is about to put the paste on his right hand into your mouth as well and you feel like you are panicking with fear based on the unknown component of his mixture.
GM: State if Gault will allow the shaman to do as he wishes or resist. Those waiting should state if they wish to do anything in particular until they know something significant with Gault so I can speed up game time.
Gault takes the 'medicine' of the Shaman with some reservation. As he does so he could swear it feels like a carbonated beverage as it sizzles and pops. The taste is awful, like sucking on a rusted nail. As it goes down you find yourself still alive and calm, the pain is subsiding, all is well... Peace.
Meanwhile...
Uhura tries to communicate with Gualt but there is no response. Artemis is still dancing, the rest of you are talking.
GM: I need actions from everyone but Gault. Also state how much time you are going to be spending on your current activities so I can track it in game time. Say what you wish to do now.
GM: No one gave a time span for their actions so we go by the minute.
While the others continue to dance, talk and analyze, Seth decides to go check on Gault but is given the same resistance, as Uhura was, by the young native warriors who repeats that the Shaman is not finished yet.
GM: Say what you wish to do now. Add in the amount of time you want to dedicate to your current activity so I can speed up game time.
Seth, Major and Uhura sit while Artemis goes through a delusional period where she thinks she is near a river and gets ready to bathe, however before she can make herself fully ridiculous she is stopped by some of the village women** and brought to sit next to the rest. One woman speaks of Artemis and says,
"She, no can handle magic dance, she is weak woman. You keep her here, keep here and watch dance, yes?"
The women then return to the center of the village and continue their celebrations.
30 minutes after this time...
Gault takes a huge gasp of air and in one moment sits up as though someone was choking him. He tries to get his bearings and realizes that he is feeling better than before but a little drowsy, maybe even a little happy.
He looks around for the shaman but he is not there. One of the warriors that hears you comes inside and says with some level of joy,
"Good, good, you better now, your friends see you now, yes?"
He starts to lead you towards them.
GM: **Possibly some of you did as well but for the sake of moving forward we will forgo that. Gault's stats increase to normal steadily but he does feel a bit sleepy. Say what you wish to do now.
