In Character: "We need to decide if its worth anything to check these rooms out. It worries me that radiation might be underneath us and yet the only other direction besides the way we came from is down!"
Major scratches his cheek while thinking, "What's to say we can't go back out the way we came, what could happen?"
He looks to see what the others have to say about it.
"The chief said not to come back, because it's bad luck. I'm thinking 'bad luck' means 'we'll kill all of you' in this context. He has a point."
Artemis peers into inky darkness ahead. "On the other hand, it can't hurt to check the side rooms, can it?"
In Character: "Then again what do we have to gain by exploring the rooms if we're trying to reach the river?" Major scratches his cheek some more. "Decisions, decisions..."
Out of Character: Where did you get that from?
In Character: "Yeah but suppose we go forward and find another way around? Going forward is really going downward, let's not forget that." Major twists his head to the side and breathes a sigh
"Yes, but forward is also the way the river lies. And the more time we spend discussing this, the more we prolong our exposure. I believe our best option is to take the most direct route possible, and to move quickly"
"Anybody else want to chime in? Should we take a vote?"
In Character: "Seth, yes go forward not backward but you were walking in the dark a minute ago at least you have some kind of light now, do you want to trip on something or fall down something?" She shakes her head.
While looking down at the analyzer, she says "Go down if you like, I will wait here for a bit. Since Artemis has an analyzer too she can shout back the readings. No sense the only person who might have to help us all will be getting sick too."
