Out of Character: Yup, can be an idea. The feeling is that we will look like those characters of some old cartoons: following their prey in a full coat and pretending to read a newspaper that had holes for their eyes (laugh)
Out of Character: He already answered so it makes sense. For us its about colors and styles but he just wants to know the kind of clothes we're wearing.
Specific Action: Nathan will choose the following:
Clothes: Jumpsuit
Footwear: Hiking boots
Grooming: basic
Apparatus: tripod camera
Food: 5 rations
Protection: Cutlass
Disguise: Photo of pet
Sentimental: thick gold chain
Visual: Electronic binoculars
Storage: Backpack
Nathan frowns while choosing between the items that have been offered to the group. "Where's the filming equipment?", he asks to the supervisor in a brisk way, "Are we really supposed to pass for documentary makers only because we bring along two or three of those toy cameras? There are seven of us, which means big production and big expenses: aren't we supposed to be equipped in a more professional way? I guess we should have a word with the captain, after all, like Thomas suggested".
Out of Character: Fair, I merged my old action with the new one to make it easier for you so you can use this one right away. To understand why I changed my action, please refer to the support thread everyone. I believe we should negotiate a little bit with these people because they are putting us in a very difficult situation.
Specific Action: Thomas will choose the following items...
Clothes: Jumpsuit (includes utility pockets).
Footwear: Hiking boots.
Grooming: Basic only.
Apparatus: hand computer.
Food: Ask for eight days.
Protection (low-tech): Hiking pole.
Protection (high-tech): Try to wait and see what they are bringing.
Disguise: Photo of family.
Sentimental: Gold chain.
Visual: detector (harmful chemicals).
Storage: Backpack.
Out of Character: Bruconero dude I think what JB is saying is that being a documentary crew in the future isn't the same like it is now. Perhaps they do it with their tripod thingies and not with a should mount camera and someone pulling a chord from behind. [kind of] makes sense when you think of digital camcorders we have now, who like knows whats available in a century's time. Plus he did mention the ID thing that has our credentials I guess that would say more about us than what we held in our hand.
Out of Character: I think Bruconero might be frustrated about not being to hide guns anywhere but we're told that will come later. It's either we treat the base's people with the utmost suspicion or that they really know what they're doing. We do have a choice as far as I see it but not much choice about how we want to leave on the mission. Maybe we have more info to get, I don't know but if you guys have specific questions that need answered then we will need to put it to JB in game.
Out of Character: Is ok for the futuristic equipment: in this age a small camera is self sufficient. Acceptable. But, if like that, three of us carry such an equipment. And the other 4? Who would pay big money (is not a cheap expedition) and send more than half of their crew without a defined role? The primitive tribe would not wonder about it but the conservationists would certainly do since they happen to have "Friends" in the media world.
If you read the answer from JB, also, it opens scary possibilities. I think we should get as much info as we can now, before we are deployed. And no, I'm not concerned by the guns: I didn't even bought one in the past scenario. I'm worried by our cover story having to be a credible one, specially because has been imposed to us. Like I underlined elsewhere, JB is the pure Game Master: he plays AGAINST the party. Let's not go petting the lion on the head.
Out of Character: Well dude let's think about it, it could be just some of us doing the filming but the rest are: narrator, director, stunt crew *shrugs*, and usually when making a documentary you take a long specialists. I like that JB plays against us, its challenging!
