Out of Game: What if they're hostile to outsiders? I agree we should get in with the tribes, but approaching them in person seems somewhat fool hardy. Perhaps another way?
What about religious ideals of the tribe? What/who do they worship?
Out of Character: Welcome to the group. You're right about that so we compiled a list of questions to make sure we know all there is to know before we start the game. Are we ready to move forward everyone?
Out of Character: Good questions. Here is the new list again for everyone's final approval:
- We need to know the laws of this remote place, their technology and stuff
- Who exactly is hiring us
- What do we tell the conservation groups when we encounter them
- Can we have communicators that others can't pick up
- Where and how do we find the poisons
- How will we be dressed
- where do we look for the crystals
- How do we make friends with the tribes. We need to know their culture, religious beliefs, deity they worship, basically everything there is to know about them
- Can we request equipment or will we be only using what we can afford
- Where their villages are located, general population
Out of Character: Another issue is the language barrier. Dealing with a primitive and reclusive tribe is already difficult by itself, but if our communication will be also limited by the language any single word can be translated in the wrong way creating misunderstandings and leading to potential conflicts.
We will have translators that will render basic communication possible but I think is not enough. Maybe one of our linguists should check if is possible to study their language before meeting them, at least the basics.
Social and religious beliefs are also of outmost importance: learning about what is considered a taboo in their moral system, what is polite and what not, how to behave in a socially acceptable way and so on...
Out of Character: I feel we should run with these questions and see what's offered up to us with whatever briefing they give us then we can probably ask more after.
