This is Biotech Engineer, over... Out of Character: JB mentioned 2 couples so if these 2 girls is one item then where is the next couple?
Also Lars, you stopping to tell them that... Uh-huh, you might get poisoned. 
In Character: Uhura is perturbed by the who situation and how carefree and rather irresponsible these 'children' are but then again Uhura is a scientist so for her everything must serve a purpose [and] be analytical.
