Krictic Introduction

Hello, my name is Pedro, also known in some places as "Krictic" (it was meant to be "Kriptic" at first, but due to a mistyping error I got "Krictic"), I come from the northeast region of Brazil and I'm going to enter the course of Philosophy on a University around here, I have 19 years old (my anniversary is May 26).
At first, I did came here searching for some serious play-by-post RPG, in fact, I'm a veteran pen-and-paper player (I did even my own RPG setting!), I searched on Google and got here, so as you can see, my first interest around here is to play [RPG], nevertheless, I found this forum surprisingly diverse, so you could say that I have interest in piratically everything from here, from politics to, obviously, philosophy.
I'm overextending unnecessarily here, I just have some questions about this community:

1. Why did you asked if I had a mental disorder? There is a motive for this ([kind of]) intrusive question on registration forms? (and, indeed I have diagnosed ADHD, but that´s not the issue here).

2. I can post anywhere in this forum? Regardless of my declared interest on my registration form?

3. I readied carefully the Rules and constructive guidelines, and I agreed with them (or I would not be here now), but, why they are not up to debate? Do you think they are perfect? I'm will not debate them specifically, but I found strange that a such serious and mature community does not open their own rules to debate.

4. Religious debate are allowed? It was not that clear on the rules.

I think that´s it.
Thanks for the attention. smile.gif

[Observation]: Now that I think about it, maybe this was not the proper place to post my doubts, anyway, say if I did the correct thing, if not, I will myself edit the post and do another thread to ask them.

[Observation 2]: Sorry if my English writing is limited, I did only 2 years of English course (I would have completed it, but I had financial problems at the time) and learned only the basics, after that I had to self-learn by trial and error, be nice with me.

Hi Krictic! That was quite an introduction. I will try to answer all your questions.

international QUOTE
Why did you asked if I had a mental disorder?

We did not. The form asks and explains why the information is needed:
international QUOTE (From Registration form)
Special Needs
If you have a special need (diagnosed). Reason: if members communicate in a certain way that appears unusual. This helps us to gauge if there is anything we should be aware of upfront to assist you in adjusting to the Community. Only Admin sees this.

This would have been only seen by Admin but you've openly declared it here.

international QUOTE
I can post anywhere in this forum?

Yes, you can, just ensure you stay on the topic of where you are posting.

international QUOTE
I readied carefully the Rules and constructive guidelines, and I agreed with them (or I would not be here now), but, why they are not up to debate?

Maybe you should read them again because the reason they are not up for debate is given in the community's Constructive Posting Policy.

international QUOTE
Religious debate are allowed?

Yes, but religion and religious references are kept only in the religious based boards.

Also, this is the correct place to ask your questions about the community. Hope that clears everything up for you.

Introduction Krictic

Thanks for the answers, I have more questions based on these:
1.The form asked, anyway.
2.Yes, I saw it a while ago, I tough it would be public, in any case, I do not have problem in people knowing it, its not something for me to be ashamed of. Anyway, aside for statistics, I find [kind of] hard to understand how knowing this would help the moderation and administration to support me or any other people with such disorders.
3.

international QUOTE
"Our Policy and more especially the ENFORCEMENT of that policy by Administrator / Moderators is NOT up for debate."
I fail to see a reasonable reason for this policy, I know you guys do not have to explain this, but my curiosity gets the best of me.
4. But the "Religious" debates I´m talking about, are philosophical/scientifically debates, religion philosophy is closely related to metaphysics. In any case, I do not see any "Atheist/Agnostic" forum for these debates.

Thanks again.

Introduction Krictic

Welcome to the site Krictic. I run a campaign on the Member Wars Board, and while I am not actively recruiting, I am accepting new players. I believe the other two GM's on the Member Wars Board are full on players, but new spots open all the time. I hope you enjoy your time here.

Krictic Introduction

Please do understand that the Administrators of this community have set rules and policies based on experience. As a member, who has agreed to them, it is for you to keep these rules and policies. By questioning them you are actually breaking the rules and policies. Moderators here are very strict and if you do not follow your account will be deleted. If you want to learn more about why certain things are done the way they are you can read through the various threads in this board: [+] Community News, FAQ & Feedback and you may also like to read the pinned topics in this board: Introductions & Member Sharing.

Krictic Introduction

I understand, and yes, I agree that the rules are in fact, well written, but, again, I'm a questioning person by nature, I do not like much this specific point of the rules and policies, democracy is the best way we know of to build a reasonable society (and in this case, a community), but if I do not agree completely on this matter, I accept the rules (in the same way to do not agree with capitalism, but abide to its laws anyway).
I just hope that questioning is not a motive of ban on this forum.

Anyway, thank you for the attention. smile.gif

Yes, it is, and I have already stated that if you keep bringing it up one of the Moderators will delete you for your insistence.
