Ferguson, Missouri, City Manager John Shaw has resigned in the wake of a scathing Justice Department report.

The report blames Ferguson police and courts for abusive behavior that disproportionately targets African-American residents.

Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson will resign tday, a source at Ferguson, Missouri, City Hall tells CNN's Sara Sidner.

City Manager John Shaw stepped down Tuesday, following a Department of Justice report that exposed problems in the city's policing tactics. The DOJ report mentioned both men by name. Last week, a police captain and a sergeant resigned, and a court clerk was dismissed.

The report faulted Ferguson's officers for seeing residents as "Sources of revenue" And disproportionately targeting African-Americans. Ref. CNN

With the kind of negative national attention Ferguson has gotten I can't imagine anyone wanting to hold on to their position - the only 'save your face' thing to do is resign and make room for young bloods who don't have an agenda.

It seems to me that someone or a group of people have no idea what a peaceful protest is. Either that or they do not want peace in Ferguson and want things to get even further out of hand. Ambushing the police is not going to help anyone heal and move on.
