The incident occurred around 7 p.m. When Sobers was standing in front of a bar at the corner of Bertrand Street and Navet Road, Mon Repos, when a man walked up to him.
Police said the two men began to argue and the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot at Sobers, then walked off.
Sobers ran to a house nearby and residents contacted the police.
Police officers of the Mon Repos station responded and Sobers was taken by ambulance to San Fernando General Hospital.
