I remember going to school and never worrying about strangers coming in to rob teachers or students!
I think it is crucial for the Government to increase security measures in all schools. It is a good idea (from what I have gleaned from the other posts) to have an experienced and well trained, armed security guard with a metal detector. Sad as it may seem but very necessary! I think seminars should also be conducted at each school for the teachers and students to focus on security measures concerning: how to protect themselves when confronted by a stranger, to be aware of your surroundings (that is, if you notice any strangers standing around and doing nothing) and who to call for assistance, when the need arises. Security is becoming an integral part of our lives and is required in our homes, in the work place and now, even in schools.
I think all parents would have peace of mind, knowing that their children are safe. It is one less thing for the adults and kids to worry about!

There is so much school violence because the security in schools is a joke. School children should pass through metal detectors and have their bags searched. Then there should be at least three guards per school. These guards should be well trained and intimidating to keep the order and stop fights.
