Police Officers Get Citizens Drunk For Training

Do you agree with these sort of experiments or do you think there could be a risk of someone becoming addicted to alcohol?

international QUOTE
Police officers handed out alcohol to some New York residence in an effort to combat drunk driving.

Officers in Long Island distributed free drinks to four volunteers and urged them to get wasted without legal consequences.

Recently, the Suffolk County Police Department had four volunteers drink alcohol until their alcohol level was over the legal limit. This was done in order to train the officers. The purpose was to show officers, the signs to look for in order to know if the person is drunk, giving them probable cause to arrest drunk drivers before they hurt innocent people.

"We really need the intoxicated people so we can do the field sobriety tests in a real life atmosphere," Officer Charles Boyle said. Now, with boating season approaching, officers are training to keep the waters safe from drunk boat drivers. Source 1

Training Drunk Citizens Officers Police

No problem in my opinion. They were all volunteers so most probably not new to alcoholic drinks. This kind of training is peculiar anyway: I doubt that the subjects were acting in a spontaneous way knowing that that the treat was coming from police officers.
