Pictures Of Deity

Does your religion have a picture(s) of the (D)deity you worship? If so, what does the image portray? If not, why not?

Interestingly enough we have artist's depictions of Jesus Christ and even Heavenly Father. They serve the purpose of reflection and thought and are in no way worshipped or used as part of any ceremony.

Pictures Of Deity Beliefs Religious General

I dont have any pictures of deities in my house, and with respect to Catholicism, the only pictures I have seen are those of Jesus or Mary. When I lived in Trinidad, I had a lot of Hindu friends, and that religion, I know for a fact, uses pictures of deities in ceremonies. For their festival of lights, Divali, they will place food in front of some of these pictures, as offerings. Very interesting indeed!

I believe if you put every positive based religion in the world all into one you would have my gods I pray to. It makes more sense to me that all this cool stuff on earth would take a team of powerful beings to create.
