How valid and recognized is the TOEFL examination? If you took the exam please do tell if it was difficult.

The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is recognized internationally. This is the test that any non-native english speaker must take in order to enter to a University where english is the official language. Some big companies will also require from their employees to take this test if the job they need to do has a lot to do with communication. The test costs around $US120. I have not done it yet but I may do it in the future.

I may take the London Examinations (level 2) next year anyway.

My wife just took the test. It was not too difficult. However, I would recommend that you get a studyguide or search the internet for example questions for the sentence structure. There is a part of the test where you identify the proper sentence. It is probably not written the way you would normally speak (english speaker or foreign speaker), so it is good to get a idea of how they expect you to form your sentences.
