I have some guilty feelings about this because my dog always ends up being last on my priority list. I give his lots of affection and will play for short amounts of time, but what he really needs is more exercise, which is hard to make time for. He is very attached to me and refuses to go for a walk unless I go too, which puts the burden to walk him completely on me. Oh, except he really likes my daughter's boyfriend and will let him take him. At last, someone to share the responsibility. I hope I don't scare him off with all these domestic chores.
I often worry about this. My husband and I both work full time and have extra-curriculum activities and wonder if Lucy (out one year old cat) misses out. When we are at home, we spend a lot of time with her. She is the most beautiful moggy! She seems fine, but how does one know?
Pets are living creatures too and they need some play time but I think some people go way overboard by taking them with them in their cars and stuff.
My cat is so pampered it's ridiculous. We've had her maybe a week and already she has 3 scratching posts a roomful of toys and healthier food than what I have in the refrigerator.
She's super cute though and I can't wait to come home cuddle and play with her.
Play by post you are out to lunch on this one! As much as I hate to admit it, they really are part of the family. So as long as it is not too hot or cold our mutt jumps in and goes for the ride. I will not do long shopping trips but if it is to the gas store or bank sure. Plus they do love being with you and are more loyal then many spouses are.
At the same time they are just pets and if they get too sick it is a bullet to the head.
