Everyone always has an answer for the way things run, in this case, many believe they have the answer for President Bush including the one below by James P. Gannon:
What Bush CAN Do To Fix It
The cascading political disasters that have fallen upon President Bush this year are so damaging that it is tempting to write off the rest of his presidency as a failure - as 55% of the people in a new USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll survey have done. But the president can salvage his second term and leave a lasting legacy if he remembers the people who elected him and starts acting more like a Republican and a committed conservative. Offtopic but, As a follow-on, I think people are realizing how much of a failure Clinton was as a president, not only because of his antics, but because he ignored what was going on in the world, and was able to ride the wave of economic health that had been handed to him by previous administrations. |

That's an interesting perspective Malexander.
I"m not sure how popular Bush in the US, but outside of America he is probably the most hated US president I can remember.
I think some of the criticism levelled towards him is unfair because a lot of the decisions have come from factions within his administration, especially the neo-cons.
But Bush has also made some terrible speeches and in my opinion is a rather poor leader. Any leader that always uses fear to garner support is dubious.
The reality of Iraq and terrorism is that both situations have become far worse since Bush came to power.
Terrorism is not Bush's fault, but by choosing to use terrorism to combat it, he is merely inflaming the problem. The invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, both misguided ideological pursuits, have allowed small splinter terrorist organisations to flourish from a growing army of discontent young men.
Iraq is in a far worse state now than it ever was under Saddam. And, ironically, a Shiite dominated government friendly with Iran looks like returning to power in Iraq. This is what the CIA helped remove decades ago to install the Sunni Baathist Party.
Unfortunately Bush's presidency has been hijacked by terrible advice and an inclination to wage war now and ask questions later.
Was Clinton's administration much better? Not really. He was a more likeable man, but also preferred to pull the trigger instead of using diplomacy and respecting the sovereign rights of others.
