With T'gron trying to negotiate with the bandits, the rest of the party make haste south from the intersection towards the cave entrance. Kron has the torch and is in the lead, with Ariadne, Maicman and Horde in the rear. They make a special effort to avoid the depression in the ground they encountered before, shining the torch on the ground and going around the depression. They hope that the chasing bandits will step onto the depression and fall into its trap, if it indeed is one. Once at the cave entrance, Horde opens the entrance to the cave and the party spill into the woods.

Kron, realizing that the party does not know how to open the cave entrance, bids them to stop and face their enemies. They stand between the cave entrance and the depression in the ground, facing North and their enemies that are bearing down on them. They make a decision to fight the oncomers with all their might and avenge the death of T'gron, whose cry they overheard while fleeing. Kron and Ariadne are at the front, with Horde and Maicman in the rear, all with weapons drawn. They blow out the torch so as to use the element of surprise, and are expecting they will see the enemy approaching with torches before the enemy sees them. They are also hopeful that the depression in the ground which is in front of them will bring demise to some of the bandits approaching.
With Kron sustaining such a blow, Maicman takes some initiative and jumps in front of him shouting "Stop, enough blood has been shed". His intention is to create a long enough pause or diversion for Kron to fall back behind himself and Ariadne. Hopefully with the bandits stunned by this reaction from Maicman, Ariadne then will continue her assault, while Maicman starts his own on the three that were on Kron's side. Horde will stand in front of Kron while he attempts to recover temporarily from the blow he received. If either Maicman or Ariadne are dealt a blow, Horde is ready to jump in and continue the attack. The party is determined to draw blood from every last one of these mongrels or die trying.
The spirits of the remaining party members are almost to the point of being broken after the loss of Ariadne, and Horde reminds Kron and Maicman that this is a good fight and ridding the village of evil doers. He urges them to continue the fight until it is over. Kron realizes that they must attempt at least to rejoin Knight if possible and fight to avenge their friends and themselves. He urges the party to proceed back into the passageways, in the direction where Knight was last seen. With a torch in hand, Horde leads the group back to the intersection and then westward into the passageways where Knight had once ventured on their own. Maicman is second and Kron is in the rear, with short sword and club drawn. They will fight anyone that stands in their way, and hopefully rejoined with Knight, can finish the task at hand.
Kron and Maicman, though unsure about the slimy liquid, take it from Knight and drink it, trusting him as their leader and knowing that he is looking out for the good of the villagers. Plus Horde has been very trustworthy and faithful to this point, and he didnt seem to doubt the liquid either. They are very relieved that Knight has found them and assured them of safe passage and gotten them out of the cave of death.

Is this just a comment or are you saying you want to get out of the cave? |
Knight seems to be very blessed in the arts as his liquid revives Maicman and Kron to full strength. Kron decides that it be best that Knight tackle the leader since he has scouted him out more than the others and may be better equipped to battle with him. Kron, Maicman and Horde will take on all others and use their skill to fight in battle. Kron asks Knight "Where is this leader of the bandits who is skilled in the arts? If thou knowest where he is located then hasten to his position to engage him in battle. If he is being protected, we will all proceed together and engage the masses in battle so that you can get to him one-on-one."
