The reports that I have been hearing indicate that a lot of people feel the movie is primarily a promotion of the homosexuality of Alexander, rather than an attempt to tell the story of his strategic and tactical genius.

LDS, that is a very good perspective. More so, why would his homosexuality make a difference? Plenty of famous individuals had sexual preferences outside of the opposite sex, but that is the make-up of history. Alexanders distinquished personality set him apart in many ways from the every day fodders of that time and should be recognized for his beneficial skills rather than what sex he preferred. I only wished I'd had more of a chance to study Alexander's history before the movie so I would have been able to adapt more readily to the genius behind his battle plans and personal life.
