The best ff storyline has to be ffvii. The best game play has to be ffx.
The most disappointing has to be ffx2.
I enjoyed ffvii because it had been well thought out and wasn't rushed like ffx2 had been. If ffvii and ffx were made into one it would be the perfect ff.

pc Fantasy Final
I agree that Final Fantasy VII is the best with an envolving storyline. I am not a big fan of the system though. Though easy to understand and use, it is quite frankly a boring system that seems a little unrealistic and unlike the storyline doesn't make you feel envolved, detached instead. LOTR 3rd Age was in part spolit be the adoption of this terrible combat system. However maybe I am just holding it up unfairly against recent and far better rpg control systems.
