I am alot like Choko in that I won't necessarily wait forever in line. It doesn't make me nervous, just impatient. I will stay in the line if it is in my absolute best interest to do so. For example, I need to renew my driver's license or there is no place else to buy what it is I am seeking. However, if I am at the grocery store or department store and there isn't a valid reason for long lines except that they haven't hired or scheduled enough people to work, I will leave. If enough people took this step, the stores would be forced to hire more people. If we all just continue to wait in line, then they have trained us to accept the wait and don't need to hire the necessary staff. In that case, why would they? The fewer employees they need to pay, the higher their profit.
