Drink Or Die?

If you were in this situation, what would you do?

You are travelling in the desert with your friend in a jeep and it suddenly stops. You can do nothing to move it, from now on you must travel by your own. You have one battle of water - and it is yours. Your friend has ran out of water, and you know that you both need at least a bottle to stay alive until you reach the nearest city. What would you do? Drink the bottle and let your friend die? Give your friend the bottle and die yourself, or share the water and die both?

This is a hard situation. My original thought would be to share the water... But now that I think about it... If my best friend and I were in that situation, I would give her the water. I would ask her to return home and tell my family how much I loved them and to tell everyone else that I died happy. It would be an honor to die a hero and to save a friend's life.

Smudge, that's a very good question. Hmmm...I don't think I could be brave enough to die or let my friend die, maybe I would end up sharing the water with the hope and faith that somehow we would survive...

I would have to agree with LDS_forever. I would share the water and hope for the best. You never know if somewhere on our journey we would run into someone that would rescue both of us. If I had drank the water myself and my friend had died and someone met me before the town, then I would feel worse.

I think I would share with the mentality that our adrenaline would save us. You hear stories all the time about people coming out of situations alive that they shouldn't have. There was a girl trapped in her car for a little over a week and survived, which was the longest period anybody has ever gone without water or food in that situation and survived. I think that when it's a life or death situation you're going to fight harder.

If you ask some people what are they going to do if they saw a man laying of the side of the street every last of them will say that will help the men...but the reality is other. This is the story with this imaginary situations. If ever that happens( one bottle 2 persons) there are alternative solutions. The car has (for example) a water cooling system...and so on...a survival would find a bottle more then enough but some inexperience lad would panic and die on the desert...
