It sounds like a lame excuse to commit acts of war. If that was their true reason they should be putting pressure on the Saudis to get the US off the land. There are more than just Islamic terrorists out there, I'm asking about them. The Islamics are a collection of barbaric lunatics that can only be reasoned with in the form of high velocity lead and lots of it. Seriously, who talks about having total war and rivers of blood only to complain when we blow up one of their fortresses posing as a mosque.
Anyway, I'd consider the PIRA to be entitled to be called freedom fighters. Their goal isn't to kill large groups of people, they just want return of the abortion called Northern Ireland to its rightful country. Furthermore they have disarmed, and are now pursuing political means to achieve this.

Title: Terrorists of the Islamic religion
Comments: What a shame that despite the galloping knowledge and experience human beings have gained since their appearance on earth we still have members of the Islamic religion acting as morons and murderers, under the disguise as terrorists lacking in compassion and morals hoping to encourage others to join their way of thinking and existence. They behave in a hilarious manner when innocent people are slaughtered by various insane idiots and are quick to claim that they were behind such massacres that have occurred in America and other parts of the world. They are lacking in foresight despite the fact they have the failures in history by men like Adolf Hitler and his Nazi movement who tried and failed in attempts to achieve control of the world. They continually use the doctrine of the Koran by manipulating and putting their interpretations to words and passages within this holy book to support their barbaric attitudes and behavior, and convince their supporters that what they are doing is right. The sooner the military dispense with these terrorists the better it will for mankind.
I do not believe it is as easy as that. You have whole sectors of groups now that feel their way is correct. IT is not limited to just the Islamic religion either. You have others who feel that they should commit acts of terrorism in the name of cleansing the world of unbelievers.
Indeed, it is not so simple.
Most people who turn to extremism do so for a reason. The United States has been called the single greatest threat to the lives and livelihood of those in the middle east, and like it or not, this is not much of an exaggeration. Over the years our government has, both deliberately and otherwise, caused massive amounts of harm to innocents living there.
Does this justify terrorism? No. But many in that region feel that they have no other choice, and the only way we'll ever permanently end such groups is if we stop being the reason their recruitment lines are so full.

You know, this is all a matter of perspective. The terrorists think they have a legitimate reason to do what they do. Also, terrorism is a tactic for those who don't have other options. That may sound hard, but it is the truth and terrorism has been a tactic for a very long time. When a country doesn't have the military strength of another country they resort to terrorist tactics. Had Germany won WW 2 the French resistance would have been classified as terrorists.
I am not defending terrorism, I am simply stating facts here. The way the thinking of the terrorists goes is they will make it so expensive, in terms of dead, for the country or countries they are targeting that the target country will stop doing whatever the terrorists disagree with. In the case of the terrorists in the Middle East, that is the US supporting Israel, Saudi Arabia, a few other countries and advocating for Democracy in the Middle East.
Regarding our causing harm in the Middle East, that is true. But let me add a few clarifications. We were and are at war. The difference is that this is a low key war, unlike WW 2, so the war goes mostly unnoticed and the death and suffering is pinned on the US. There are people there who want to do the US and our allies harm. War is not antiseptic nor should it be. War is ugly so that it is the very last option we choose. Innocents sometimes die even though we do everything in our power to keep that from happening. This is why we are causing harm there.
I don't just mean casualties of war. On many occasions, we intercede there to the detriment of the people. For instance, we have propped up the princes of Saudi Arabia for decades, in spite of the regular and egregious abuses they bring, principally because it was economically beneficial to do so. We keep helping them maintain power, even when their rivals are trying to advocate a democratic government.
Daishain,
