We did the coolest thing today at work today. We had the girls make posters that celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. and what he stood for. Then we lined the girls up and took them on a "freedom" march around the block. It was a really good experience for them and I think it really taught them a lot. It was definately a unique experience with the girls chanting things like "We have a dream" "Martin Luther King" "Freedom", etc.

While a lot of people try to down grade him I believe he did have a dream. I believe in that dream. I would like to see all people no matter their skin color or back ground be equal. We all are equals in the eyes of god why can we all not be equals in the eyes of governments? This is what Dr. King stood for. I do not care if he lied or was a communist. I believe all of us should do more to make sure everyone is treated equally until they prove that they can not live within the rules of a civilized society.

47 Years Ago in Detroit: Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Delivers First "I Have a Dream" Speech
We turn now to another historic march down Woodward Avenue in Detroit. It was June 23rd, 1963, when the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Led a civil rights march of thousands and delivered a speech with what would become his most famous words: "I have a dream." The speech came two months before the historic March on Washington. We play an excerpt of the speech and talk to Grace Lee Boggs, who helped organize the march. Ref. Source 4
