Based on Arthur C. Clarke's story, Stanley Kubrick's production (1968) describes the supposed future (of course, now it is past). Astronauts David Bowman and Frank Poole confront HAL-9000, the intelligent and even emotional computer operating their ship.
I found it a bit slow, but my father told me that when he saw it, it was considered fast. Well, what can I say? I guess it's the difference between generations! I also found it interesting to see how people thought the present time would look like (I saw the movie in the year 2001

I remember this movie being very weird, but then again so is our culture now, so maybe the author got it all right. However, he was a bit anxious as we are yet to do some of the things shown in the movie. I guess it was good for its time, but would be as you put it 'slow' based on the kinds of effects and storylines they have now.
