Ice goes on horseback to scout the nearby lands for food, more appropriate shelter or a cave. She actually is surprised to find a cloaked skeleton resting face down on the ground in some nearby brush not far from where the new camp has been created.
In the mean time the rest of the party start to gather wood for a fire so they can dry off and warm up. It is not an easy task as everything is wet. It takes you about one hour and a half to get a fire started after constant care and blowing. You scout around for food, but do not see anything readily edible. Had it been dry you may have been sure to at least see a squirrel or rabbit, but it seems that all running creatures have taken shelter.
The clouds still cover the sky and you hope that rain will not come again.
GM: Say what you will do now. It is 4pm.
Ice returns to tell of her find. The party discusses the possibilities of what may have happened and what you wish to do about it. The evening is become more apparent as the sun makes it way behind the South Mountains. Allready in the North sky you can see one of the moons.
GM: Say what you will do now. 5pm
Ice tell the rest of the party,
"Listen, that dead guy tells me there could be danger nearby. I say we all keep our weapons with us on our person at all times from now on. Eat with them, sleep with them, whatever you do, do with your weapons, agreed?"
The party agrees... you all take turns watching the night, nothing happens and the heavy rain seems to have chased any prospects of danger far from you. You did not bring anything for sleeping nor to cover and you found the night very cold and uncomfortable. You wake very groggy and moody.
GM: With such low level soul for each character it is likely you will bite each other for any reason.
In the morning, you eat a ration of food, disassemble the canopy, hitch the horses to the wagon, and take off in the direction they had originally planned, in search for caves.
You wish to go to where Ice found the skeleton, but this is in heavy woods too thick for a wagon.
GM: Say what you will do. The skeleton is about 300 feet from where the wagon will have to stay. Party Stats have been updated.
Curiosity gets the better of you as Kiana, Mud and Ice will go over to where the skeleton with their weapons drawn, while Maicman and Kron stay with the wagon to guard it.
The day is clear and the sun bright so you are able to see your way passed the easy brush, trees and shrubs on your way to the location of where the skeleton is resting. Looking back you cannot see the wagon, but you guess they are okay without you. You each stand there looking at it - a skeleton mostly covered by a cloak once worn by what seems to be a human of average size. The prostrate skeleton's head is turn to the side and the arms seem to be slumped at the side. The cloak covers the body.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Kiana and Mud decide that they will uncover the skeleton...
"Be careful now, that body could be booby trapped or diseased. For goodness sakes, if you must touch him, use a stick or something!",
says Ice as she backs away from the body to a safe distance in superstitious fear
Kiana takes Mud's rod and approaches the skeleton, with Mud close behind, and Ice a safe distance back with weapons drawn and eyes peeled. Kiana uses the rod to uncloak the skeleton and prod around.
As the cloak is removed a snake springs for a defensive attack, but both Kiana and Mud were quick enough to jump back before the fangs of the snake could touch them!
Note: How this was calculated: The slowest person has body of 17 and as a percentage is 85/100. For the snake to hit you it needed to get over 85 to hit the slowest person. The snake had a +20% modifier plus your role which is not over 85 - so you are safe.
Ice then clamours with pride as she knows it was safe to stay back as the snake now recoils and shows it fangs ready to spring again as though it is protecting something valuable, maybe its' life.
GM: Say what you will do now.
Ice draws an arrow from her arrow holder, takes careful aim and shoots at the snake and gets it in the head with such precision that the arrows momentum continues until it reaches the tree behind it. The snake is dead.
GM: Say what you will do now.
A decision is made that you will take the snake to consume as food, but who will take the snake is yet another decision to be made.
You prod around the skeleton to look for anything unusual and there is nothing but a curious looking ring within the skeleton's ribcage. You do not touch it, but it seems to be gold or at least looks like gold.
GM: Say what you will do now. Please be specific with who does what.
Kiana is engaged by the fortune of finding a ring and she proceeds to remove the ring from the skeleton so as to keep it with her. Ice and Mud watch very carefully seeing it as an object of misfortune instead.
Kiana takes the dead snake back with her to the wagon and places it in her small sack.
You look around and see nothing more of interest and so you return to the wagon without further delay where you find your mates awaiting answers to your little mission.
