In the distance you here the faint sound of rumbling from the West, but cannot tell what it is because of what seems to be a light fog that has developed.
GM: Say what you will do now:
As you sit there pondering life in the open plains you see that through the mist of the fog the outlines of a great force coming... you each stand up on the wooden wagon for a better look as you hear what is now apparent - the gallop of horses hoves beating against the ground, but with such an immense noise you wonder how large an army it can be, you shudder to wonder what could be out here... a legion of bandits? A stampede? You quickly look at the map and up again towards the fog to see the figures of well clad men on horse back coming towards you. Your heart pounds, your hand tightens around your weapon as you feel your palms become sweaty.

Awe struck by it all the fog reveals heavy set men in armor with weapons of ferocious destruction. Swish... swish... you notice arrows are coming out of the air towards you and Kiana takes one that sends her backward a few steps and off the wagon on to the ground. you spin around quickly and see she is still alive but not in the best shape. You all try to take cover by squatting but being in an open wagon leaves you with little for protection.
At the speed of the approach the army is quickly upon you and surrounds your wagon with pole arms aimed towards you. You estimate that it is about 20 men. Their uniform is well textured and has the colors of Greystalk.

Kron's stuttering voice reveals his willingness to live:
"We mean you no harm, great warriors! We are simple folks out on a hunting trip. Tell us if we can be of service to you. Otherwise, let us tend to our companion who has been struck down by one of your arrows."
One who is well bound in Plate Mail and Great Helm comes forward and then encircles you about and mutters,
"Such hunters be ye with no bow and arrow to be found? What be ye hunting... men?"
A strange shrill call is made by Ice followed by some gestures towards heaven as though she is calling upon the guardians to guide her.
The man who sits in Plate and seems to be their leader turns to the direction of Ice and then says to the guards,
"Lower thy arms"
He then moves his horse forward and asks Ice,
"Why be ye here maiden?"
GM: Say what you will do now.
Ice proclaims,
"Well, it is true we be hunting and it be true we be hunting men, of a sort. The Elders of our village asked us to come out in search of bandits that might mean to harm innocent citizens. That is what we have been doing. We have found no bandits, though we did come across one poor soul who had died in his travels."
The man raises the front mask of his helm to reveal his piercing blue eyes of judgement. He looks at Ice as though he is searching for the Truth in the answer of Ice. He then turns to his men and makes some signs and they brake up into smaller groups. From what you gather from this action they are scouting the immediate area for 'something'. The man says,
"Well done. Thou be almost upon Greystalk's boundaries and need not continue further as we are under the same disposition as thee - we are under orders of the King. We thought thy aura was of the bandits and hence the arrows of welcome. Quickly see to thy friend."

Maicman rushes over to the fallen Kiana.
Ice then asks the man who questioned her earlier whether he has a healer in his midst to aid with Kiana to which he replies,
"No, but bind her wounds and she be well after rest"
In the meantime, Kron is suspicious of the activities of the groups of soldiers, and asks the man:
"Sir, may I inquire what your soldiers be doing? What are they looking for?"
And the man with piercing blue eyes turns to Kron and says:
"Strange question lad, I already said that we be under orders of the King and like you are looking for bandits, why do ye doubt?"
GM: Say what you will do now?
Maicman tends to Kiana and binds her wounds.
Ice continues:
"Well, it is obvious we have little to offer to improve upon your fine army's ability to find bandits in this area, perhaps we should head east in our quest?"
To which the Man in Plate responds:
"Assuredly" as he nods his head in agreement.
By this time his men return saying,
"My lord, we have found nothing, but this fog is to strong, let it suffice and we rest in cove West and rest?"
The Man then raises his hand to the West and says,
"Let us be off then"
He closes the front lid of his Helm, rides over to Ice and gives her a very small flask with an indication that it is for her friend, then his men gather around him and they leave from the same place they came through the fog.
You feel hungry as well.
GM: Say what you will do now.
Ice takes the flask that the man has given to her, and hands it to Kiana to drink, which she does and immediately her face changes from pale to blush and she props herself up and starts checking herself using her hands as though she is not sure if she is alive or dead. Her wounds have been healed - a miracle, all of you think as you examine the flask as thought there were more.
The flog eventually clears and the sky becomes blue again although there are some lingering clouds. You head towards the East. You eventually reach Death's Mouth and the evening is not too far coming as you see the sun begin to make the sky glow bright orange and red.
Your horses seem a bit slow.
