Malexander, I just wanted to tell you I thought your post in party order was perfect. It allows us time to continue to discuss our options while at the same time allows the GM to move the story along if he wants. Great job as the leader.

Land Cleaning camp

Thanks tenaheff, sorry for not posting till now. I've been crazy busy at work this morning. Anyway, back to the scenario. It will all depend on what Ice has to tell the rest of the party, if anything, about her scouting. I think we stick with the plan as before. If there is better shelter nearby, I think it is early enough to try to get there for the night. If not, we wait and set out early morning and try to make up the time. As for the skeleton, I hesitate to try investigating tonight, and would opt for waiting in the morning when we pass it by. If we move off tonight because there is better shelter nearby, we can certainly stop. That is just me being very, if not too cautious, but I know others are itching for some action, which I think we will have plenty off down the road.

I said I would fine either way, exploring or waiting. Whatever you guys decide is fine by me. Nothing was indicated by the GM as far as extra shelter, so I say we go ahead and camp out here for the night.

As far as I am concerned, if you want to be as "real" as possible, and you want to survive (which I do), I dont' think you can be too cautious.

Well, apparently that is all I found...the dead body. I think I would be interested in determining how the person died, but I would also want to be extremely careful while trying to get this information.

I think we should post that we plan to spend the night where we are. That we will take turns guarding once we go to sleep. Perhaps we should each take a two hour shift. I don't care which order we choose to do it. 4 of us gives us 8 hours sleep. So, can say we will go to sleep at 9:00 and get up at 5:00 or 10:00 and get up at 6:00 and then prepare to eat and be on our way again. Also, we need to mention we will feed the horses. Also, we should stay alert before we go to sleep in case the "bad guys" are nearby. We don't want to be caught without our weapons.

IC: "Listen, that dead guy tells me there could be danger nearby. I say we all keep our weapons with us on our person at all times from now on. Eat with them, sleep with them, whatever you do, do with your weapons, agreed?"

I volunteer, then, to be the first on guard. At least then I could get a straight period of sleep...

I believe that 4 hour shift is a better idea. This is the normal shift for guarding at night and before we go to sleep (aside feeding the horses )we should look around and secure our vicinities.

While a 4 hour shift may be customary for guarding, I don't believe it is necessary. We dont' need to sleep more than 8 hours. By each taking two hours we will all be able to get 6 hours sleep. If we do 4 hour shifts, then we are requiring two people to only get 4 hours sleep, while 2 get a full 8. That isn't fair. Also, when I say guarding, I just mean stay awake and alert to be sure no one sneaks up on us while we are sleeping. I don't think we need to actually patrol or anything, which is also why I don't think we need to put anyone on formal guard before we bed down for the night. Since I am a morning person, I volunteer to take the last shift which means getting up earliest for the day.

I will take the shift before the last. Hope it will be a quiet night. I will have my axe and short sword at my disposal.
