Excuse me, but where do I find the map? Is the same map as in the scenario GM suggested to review?
Yes. Which I believe is the map shown in the topic that describes Medieval World. I am going to read the topic that was suggested for some insight.
We probably all should.
I think we should also probably look for food to eat that we can gather along the way or at least eat what is available from the land during the early part of the trip so that we will have enough rations to eat when we can't find food later.
Reading through the Desolation Scenario, it would seem this is the map we will need to look at. I will read more to see if there is anything of use or interest in that scenario that may help us with our journey. I agree with tenaheff that everyone should read through that scenario as well since 5 pairs of eyes and brains are better than one. Here is the link to the Desolation Scenario for easy reference. Let's plan on posting party order sometime tonight or early tomorrow morning.
OOC: Macman, you seem to be on a different time schedule than the rest of us. What time schedule do you run off of?
Also, this is probably a stupid question, but I just want to double check: We are leaving out from the Village, right? Not the central kingdom.
OOC:
I believe we are definately leaving from the village.
I am game to go wherever you all think is best. Perhaps we should just search the areas nearer to the village first. Gather food etc., and see what we find. Just heading in the general direction of the mountains. Based upon what happened in Desolation, we probably want to be extremely careful as we get closer to the mountains. Also, just a thought, but maybe we should have both horses hitched to the wagon.
There was a statement about the horse being overworked pulling the wagon in Desolation. Just a thought, but if you want to leave it as already agreed, that is fine with me as well.
Since our job is specifically to cleanse the place, we probably should head towards the Death's Mouth since we know that area has "bad" people in it. However, we should not try to go through the pass, just clean this side from those who should be back on the other side...
IC:
Let's get moving! We are not going to find any one by standing around talking all day! To the south towards Death's Mouth, I say! I have heard stories from other warriors about some black cloaked people in that area that are pretty bad characters! These must be those we are to cleanse from the area.
OOC:
I am in agreement with hitching the second horse to the wagon. Will we need a horse chain for this? Also, since there are those of us who do not have rations for 7 days, and there is food and water closer to the village, should we head to the mountains first and explore there and then work our way back, or explore closer to the village, use the food and water there, then leave further away for last? I would vote for starting as far south as possible and working our way back. Let me know what your thoughts on this.
I agree with starting further away and working out way back. By the time we start getting closer to heading back, we'll be low on food, but we'll be heading back towards the food.
Also, is there a chance that, should we stumble upon the breeding grounds of the bandits and we defeat them, could we not check around and see if they have any food as well?
While I am not sure it is the best way to proceed, I am willing to do what the majority choose. My concerns with going the distance first is that I think it makes military sense to cleanse as you travel. This way, you are also more sure of a safe return. If we don't take the time to clear the area as we move forward, when we are returning from possible battle further out, possibly injured, our return trip could be blocked by more of the enemy. Also, we have more of a chance of being attacked from behind as well as from the front.
However, I only throw it out for consideration. I am willing to do what the group as a whole thinks is best.
