My recollection of the Piarco International Airport (is it still called that?) is from 10 years ago, so I assume things have changed quite a bit. I really liked going there as a kid to see relatives and friends arrive or depart. I liked the concept of the glass window where you could see the runway and see the planes leave and come. Is that still there? There was also this restaurant that we would go to every time we went to the airport that I enjoyed. Sorry, can't remember the name of it. Basically, going to the airport for me was similar to a field trip, so I had very fond memories of it.
10 years ago? I believe you are describing the old airport, there is a new one that cost a few 100 million. It is closer to the highway and has a unique design. It is more modern and far better than the last, but you know, people still complain.
Really? A new airport! I had no idea. What is the name of this airport? The old one I remember was close to Arima and really out in the middle of nowhere, it seemed. Did they demolish the old one then? I really need to visit Trinidad soon or else I'll get lost!
It is still called, 'Piarco' and is in the same general location, but just nearer to the highway. The below link is their site.

I would also recommend a search of the this board (T&T Board) to see various threads where we were discussing the corruption that was involved in its development.
