My daughter was absolutely going out of her mind when she heard this movie was going to be released, and on her birthday too. I didnt accompany her to the movie, but apparently the movie didnt need my money to rake in $30.1 million US over the weekend. Jim Carrey is the big star in this movie although the story is about the adventures of 3 children, and is based on a series of 13 or so books. Have you seen this movie yet, and what did you think of it?
We saw this also for my daughter's birthday. It was pretty good, one scary part involving a big snake, and we thought the toddler girl stole the show. Every time she would say something in gibberish, they would subtitle on the screen what she would be saying, we thought she was hilarious. Jim Carey is such a gifted actor and it's nice to see him in roles children can see. The imagery, or whatever you call how the picture looks, is good. It's a pretty creative movie and I also like how the kids learn to problem solve.
I saw this movie with my little sister, she's a big fan of the books and so I took her to see the movie. It was actually better then I thought it would be, Jim Carrey is a great actor and I thought the youngest child was adorable! The snake part didn't bother me but the leeches were creepy! But yeah, it was a pretty good movie overall!
I try to read most of the books my children read so I can talk with them about them. I hae read all 11 of these books. I was disappointed the the movie did not follow the books very well. That said I did enjoy Jim Carrey's acting. He like Robin Williams is always best when they let him improvise.

Does the books answer some of the mysteries left unanswered in the movie such as my question above:
