Kabbalah - Page 2

It seems that Michael Jackson, too, has joined the lot, supposedly gaining interest in the Kabbalah from talks with Elizabeth Taylor.

QUOTE
The singer has been wearing the red string bracelet favoured by followers of the religion, and a Kabbalah insider reportedly told Newsweek.com that Jackson has been dabbling in the mystical offshoot of Judaism, whose members include Madonna and Britney Spears.

"Jackson is friendly with Elizabeth Taylor who has studied Kabbalah, and it's my understanding she got him interested in it," says the source. "He's been wearing the red string during the trial, like Winona Ryder did during her trial, because it wards off the evil eye. Looks like it worked."

Kabbalah

It is sad to see a religious tradition being turned into a fad by those in Hollywood. I was in the store the other day and there was a bottle of water with Britney Spears face on it and it was some sort of Kabbalah water. I do not understand nor have I ever studied the Kabbalah, but from what I have seen a few "stars" have made it a fashion statement and to me that is wrong.

Kabbalah Judaism Studies

I agree. Kabbalah was originally only for Jews, and it take a lot of dedication which I'm not sure all of the celebrities which claim to follow it have. Maybe a few do, but the rest that have followed I believe are doing it only for attention and as a fashion

Maddona is now planning on blessing Britney Spears's future baby with a Kabbalah ceremony and introducing her to the new fashion.

QUOTE

Madonna plans to welcome Britney Spears' baby with a Kabbalah ceremony and blessing.

The Material Girl has been following the mystical offshoot of Judaism for nine years, and, according to British newspaper The People, is eager to introduce Britney's child to the religion with the blessing.

"Madge introduced her to the faith and Britney keeps ringing her to find out more," says one source.

Kabbalah

This is beginning to get a little ridiculous. Kabbalah is supposed to involved a deep relationship with G-d. Call me cynical, but I really doubt Madonna's and Brittany Spears dedication and relationship with G-d. I was under the impression that you needed to be Jewish anyway to practice? I thought it was practiced along side regular Judaic practices?

Kabbalah

I agree completely! Wasn't there something in the news about Madonna or one of the other pop icons planning to celebrate Rosh Hashanna or Yom Kippur with their Kabbalah group? While I have celebrated both with a Messianic Jewish group, it was purely as an observer.

Kabbalah is meant to be a mystical road to greater understanding of HaShem for Jews. I always thought it required a firm grounding in Judaism, almost Rabbinical in its depth.
