
They didn't have all the modern facilities that ships have today either like electricity and lots of fresh water for shower's etc. Just imagine being in a storm with just wooden parts all around you.

Bigger designs and better wood workmanship would have resulted in further deep sea fishing. That's why natives at the time only fished near shore, their boats were never bigger than 20 feet and they were made mostly for 4-8 people.

It must be very hard to catch fish for those Medieval fishermen without any modern technology to help them out.
