Priesthood The Restoration Doctrine Mormon
QUOTE (Malcolmshaw @ 26-Sep 15, 1:35 PM)
One must remember that God himself will not appear unto man, unless Christ the mediator is present. In all other instances mentioned of God appearing, it has always been Jesus Christ. Christ established the Modern Day Church on the same foundation and principles that the Early Day Church was established. So to say that the leaders of the Church in the Modern Times, created or instituted something that was not ordained of God and Jesus Christ is pure folly and near blaspheme.
Christ has always led His Church and directed the lives of the faithful members and those willing to follow Him. Christ will continue to be like God in His actions, words, and thoughts, because They are one in purpose and mind. Where there are problems or issues is with man and man's understanding and his actions.
Totally correct, you are on cue. But I still hold that, Elder, High Priest and etc were only Church offices in the beginning, they were never meant to be Priesthood's as we have them today; the ordinances were done as an invite to become so; as it says in the temple. In the Temple fit symbolism and rites, you don't get them, you have to earn them, they are to show you the way, to someday achieve them.
The problem lies in the fact, that members are under the misguided illusion that, if you are good Mormons and go to the Temple regularly, that is all you do, to be exalted and be with Christ, that is far from the truth; that is only the case, if one has developed a relationship with God and Christ, and have learned higher truth upon higher truth until you become like Christ.
Why should anyone assume, Christ will accept anyone, he does not personally know.
