I bet you are right as that was one of Nepoleons past times stealing books. He was reported to have massed an enormous collection and I believe much of it was passed to the Catholic church. I am sure many wounderful books, scrolls, ext were destroyed in the various wars.

We may never know the full truth because the vatican will not let anyone down there to view the treasures. Being in the same spot for a long time I am sure it has amassed a fortune in books and scrolls.
