Scrapped Oakville Ont. power plant to cost $310M

The decision to scrap the Oakville power plant will cost Ontarians $310 million dollars, which is more than seven times higher than the $40 million estimated by the Liberals.

I am always shocked by how far estimates can be from the actual cost of something. I can understand when long-term costs differ from projections, but short term costs, especially fixed costs associated with terminating a project should be fairly accurate. Having a margin of error of 700% is ridiculous.
There should be some sort of accountability for that. I understand the difference between estimate and quote, but an estimate that is that far off, isn't really and estimate.
