S&W Model 5924 Gun Review

S&W Model 5924

For what was specific purpose was the S&W Model 5924 (US - Pistol - 9 x 19 mm Parabellum) made? How do you measure the S&W Model 5924 with other types of guns?

Title: 5924 S&W

Comments: I've heard the S&W 5924 was produced for a French contract (No real source, just a rumor), in 1990-1992. The guns seen in USA are over-runs from that contract, and are quite scarce. They differ from standard 5904 (Double-column, blued slide 9mmP) in the location and type of safety - the normal slide mounted safety has been deleted and plugged. Instead there is a frame-mounted decocker behind the left grip panel. Similar in operation to the popular SIG P226. Stainless versions were also made (Model 5926) as well as compact models (6924 blued, 6926 stainless) but these are also extremely uncommon.
The model 5924 and contemporaries had Novak low-mount sights. 5900 series came with 15+1 mag, 6900 series 12+1.
