Wow, I love the way this man speaks! He says it in such a moving way that you feel compelled to go and repent or obey or whatever it is that he is saying we ought to do. I love his clear focus - you do not have to wonder or try and interpret his writing or talks because most of the time it is point blank, but done so subtle that you were just rebuked and you did not even see it coming!
I LOVE Elder Richard G. Scott, he served a mission in Uruguay and his spanish is EXCELLENT!, I mean he speaks the language like if it was a native. I had the opportunity to meet him and shake his hand once in the Church Offices in Buenos Aires. His eyes when they look at you, are like piercing to your soul! woah.... It was such a rebuke talk for the Young Men! I was observing the faces of the Young Men and some of them were shocked, others embarrased and others did not know what to do. After that, I talk to some of them and all thought that they felt very strong the Spirit and that it was an amazing talk.
Jb and LDS Forever,
Ditto!
I have often wondered if one of the great measures of spiritual maturity is the ability to deeply love, and express love, for the sinner whilst being able to speak boldly what needs to be said regarding the sin.
It is a rare quality and perhaps because it is one that takes great maturity to espouse and make part of one's character. Elder Scott certainly has done so; the bandages with which he dresses the injured soul are neither too small nor too large.
He's great and I feel much the same as JB when Elder Scott speaks.
Dubhdara.
Elder Scott came to a mission conference while I was in my first area. His words and mannerisms always pierce me to the soul. He shook every missionary's hand and looked into every missionary's eyes before he spoke. This gave him the opportunity to see in us what he needed to say. Before he addressed us, he asked the mission president and everybody else on the stand to sit down in the congregation with the rest of us. This was so he could look into everybody's eyes. His apostolic testimony was amazing, although his teachings were not always easy. He often speaks on the same themes repeatedly, but it seems I need to hear things the way he puts them every conference.

Brother Scott is one of my favorite apostles I really like when he speaks in public and has that ability of talking to ya personally you know what am I saying? makes you wake up from your comfort zone and a lot of times wonder if you should be talking to the bishop next time you see him.
