Well, I love Tamora Pierce, but her Circle Opens books were-shall I say-terrible. |
I think a good example of that would be The Lost World by Michael Crichton. He's a generally good author, and I like his work, but this sequal of Jurassic Park seemed to be done just for Sequality's sake, with no extra thought put into it. I was pretty dissapointed

I am a huge Robert Jordan fan, and as I read New:Spring The Novel (his new prequel) I was thoroughly disappointed. It was not bad, but compared to his other works, it was bland and simple. His complex world was not depicted as it was in his other novels. I still say it is worth the read because it is also shorter than his other books, but it is not up-to-par with the rest of the Wheel of Time Series (which I recommend to everyone! they dwarf the Lord of the Rings and every other fantasy series).
