I am beginning to love this exercise. One problem I have with it is when the weight you have to pull is heavier than your body weight then you can never sit fast enough before it starts pulling you up again. Today I had to ask a guy to hold me down as the 250 on the machine kept pulling me back up. Does anyone have any inventive ways to stay down? What about pulling in front of your head and behind - which works better?
As an update to this thread I am now able to keep myself down. What I do: from a standing position I place my feet under the front rails of the equipment while at the same time pulling myself down until my knees are under the pads. Not as good as when you have a spotter, but quite effective. Below is an image of a lat machine without much weight.
