I think its a blood disgrace. But nobody cares because China is seen as a key trading partner to many countries. Another case of capitalism turning a blind eye to human rights.
But I guess like anything with China, we do have to put it in context with their population size. But there is no excuse for their deplorable record.
And they are also far less tolerant towards religious freedom hen most Middle East countries.
Family of China Activist Against Force Abortions Abducted
Linyi, China (LifeNews.com) -- Local authorities who have detained Chen Guangcheng, an activist against forced abortions, have snatched his elderly mother and three-year old son from Beijing and forced them to live under house arrest near Chen's home. Meanwhile, Chen's attorneys have finally been allowed to meet with him to help him with his case.
They were taken to the house of Chen's older brother, Chen Guangfu, who told Radio Free Asia that they have been prohibited from leaving even though Chen's mother has become ill.
"Mother said she had a headache and was feeling unwell, so requested permission to go to the hospital. But they refused, sending a doctor to look at her instead," he told RFA.
Chen's wife, Yuan Weijing, who has been under tight surveillance at their home in Yinan county, said the number of local officials who have been standing guard outside her door has increased now that a team of attorneys is in town to try to help Chen.

China is stuck between a rock and a hard place, which it imposed upon itself. It wants to maintain a communist government yet have a capitalist economy. This has caused violation of human rights, in the censoring of the internet, ban of religious practices, banning pro-democracy protests.
If China truly wants to be a capitalist country, why not play with economics to reduce population? Pay people bonuses and give them subsidized housing in affluent areas ifthey promise to only have one child?
China Has Abundance of Men Thanks to Forced Abortion Policies
Beijing, China (LifeNews.com) -- Thanks to its family planning policies that include forced abortions and sterilizations, China will have 30 million more men than women in the marital age category in less than 15 years from now. That's according to a new report the Asian nation released on Friday. The disparity is a result of the gender imbalance that has resulted in a nation where cultural beliefs favor men and families are limited to one child apiece. The China Daily official news outlet of the government there said tens of millions of men will not be able to find husbands. Liu Bohong, vice director of the women studies institute under the All-China Women's Federation, told the news outlet, "Discrimination against the female sex remains the primary cause of China's growing gender imbalance." Because Chinese couples are limited to one child, abortion and infanticide are frequently used to ensure that child is a boy. Some girls are even sold or given away in order for Chinese families to have one son to comply with the family planning rules. Sex selection abortions are frowned on as the government has been cracking down on the use of ultrasound to determine the sex of the baby and promoting the birth of girl babies in educational programs. Chinese couples determined to have a son easily get around the new laws as a black market has sprung up of people with ultrasound machines in the trunks of cars or house closets are willing to divulge the sex of an unborn baby for a price. CHINA UNDER PRESSURE TO ALLOW COUPLES TO HAVE 2 KIDS: PROFESSOR

I just saw on the news where this is beginning to backfire on the Chinese. You see most couples prefer to have a son more than a daughter, so over the years there have been many males born and very few females, thus it will be more difficult to find a wife in 20 years!
Could this mean that China will create greater homosexuality indirectly? In the report it showed some guys waiting by a bar hoping at least one girl would come in, but none did - it only being men there.
