The movie, directed by Tim Burton describes a clashing between a highly imaginative and romantic father and his strictly realistic son. In the process, we see glimpses of the afther's versions of things, and towards the end the two drift more toward the center of the spectrum, the son becoming more imaginative and the father more realistic.

I really liked the concept of this movie, and it was well done. It was a good mix of bizarre fantasy and realistic interpersonal relationships. As I recall, it was pretty clean for today's PG-13. It definitely has a Tim Burton flavor to it. Not a movie that changed my life, but definitely worth the time to see.
