I don't know, I don't really use (outside of plugged) any of the extra special features often enough to donate. I donate because I love it and continuously use it. I use some of the features because they are there, like the personal avatar, but over all, I donate because I like the place. The main reason I come here is still to post, which is free anyway.

Pay Need Do

Recently we have emphasized on the Guest Page (the page a User who is not Registered sees) that to post and participate is free. You can take a look at it by going here (you will not be logged out):

You will also notice that we added our old (redesigned really) Flash intro back so that newbies can get a flavor of what is going on here.

Do I Need To Pay? Feedback & FAQ News Community

When I signed up nearly every page I came across stated that this site was free. Frankly I don't understand how anybody could miss it unless they really don't read or attempt to find out what they're signing up for. It was only after I signed up that I even learned of thepremiumm status. The policies of this site are clearly stated, but some people just don't read and that's why there is confusion. But JB has mentioned adding new text so maybe I just ran across his additional messages and that's why I wasn't confused.

You make up part of the observant few that join the Community and understand this concept, hopefully the new additions of text with the words 'Free' will help instill this on other newcomers.

Pay Need Do

When I joined this forum not only that I understood that posting was free, it never occurred to me that I would have to pay. I really don't know where they got that idea. On the other hand, I think that if you like something, you don't mind to donate (I haven't done it, but probably will).

In recent times I have come to realize that some users keep trying to use the Upgraded features and of course encounter different error or stop messages. I suppose they expect these features for free and do not post anything.

Do Need Pay - Page 2

I never felt that it was an obligation to pay to use the site because there is so much that clearly states you can be a free member. I think the only time I have ever accidentally tried to access something was in the arcade when I clicked on one of the icons for a game, and didn't realize it was an upgraded game because it didn't really say it was. I just shrugged and went back to the other five hundred games I could play.

I would love to be able to donate and check out some of the extra feautres, but until I become magically rich, there's not much I can do about it. I've enjoyed the forums just as much as I'm sure I would with or without the upgrade. There's so much to do it's almost insane.

Darn, then we are failing... laugh.gif, no really, that is good. Sometimes I wonder if I over do it with the 'Upgrade' bits here and there, so I am glad it remains as an option, but yet still it does not make members feel like they are obligated to Upgrade.
