Book Recomendations?

I am a book adict and have not been able to find a book for a few weeks now... I'm an idiot I know but I need something to read. I like medieval fantasy and would apprieciate any recomendations!

Recomendations Book

Oh... medieval fantasy! That's my personal favorite genre of books to read. As such, I'll see if I can dredge up any books that you really should take a look at. Incidentally, I'm assuming you don't mind magic in them as well.

First up is my favorite author, David Eddings. You really should check out the Belgariad, it's a fantastic series. If you haven't read it, grab it soon! The sequel series is the Mallorean, which is every bit just as good. He has some other books out as well, so you may like to keep an eye out for them.

Also, there's J.V. Jones. He writes in a rather gripping manner, and most of the settings would actually come under 'medieval fantasy'. I can't remember the names right now for the life of me, but check him out anyway. If comic fantasy is your thing, or if you don't mind it, though, I highly reccomand Terry Pratchet.

Thanks! I'll keep my eye out! the first group sounded particulary intresting. comics arn't exactly my fancy, but I don't mind a few of them. I prefer novels... something with more that 100 pages, but I'll keep my eye out for all of those! thanks again!

I realy like the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. I would recomend those books to you. They are fantasy using animals, but I realy like them.

Medieval fantasy?

I think I'd recommend...

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time but you probably already know about that.

I'm very fussy. There are some lesser-known ones which I think quite good. Try Michael Scott for instance or Kenneth C. Flint (pre-medieval but good if you want to learn Irish myths as you read!).

Book Recomendations

If you want some really good books or series for medieval fantasy (also my personal fav) there is the Aurian series by Maggie Furey for that sophisticated look quite a bit of magic involved and not your classic tale either. There is the sword of truth series by Terry Brooks, which contains I believe 8 books of no fewer than 620 pages each. They are masterpieces that will keep you caught up in this masterfuly compounded plot line and story. Magic is used, though mildly and tastefully, becoming more presistant in the later books. Though not as tasteful and modest, the Saga of Ice and Fire by George Martin is certainly a hefty adventure full of plot twists. Very very little magic in this one, but I have to say, when it's used, it's used. This is not for the faint of heart, but if you can stand the occational bursts of gore and the exessive evilness (making it all the better to me) then these books (none too short) are going to make you quite the happy reader. The worst thing about George Martin is his punctuality. The 4th book was suppose to come out January 2004... then January 2005, and now August 2005!!! Makes me mad, . I've been dying to find out what happens.

One of the best books I read was Coelho's "Alchemist". A very interesting tale with an absolutely ingenious ending. I also liked Wilbur Smith's "River God". The description of the wonderful old Egypt is absolutely sensational.
