[camp] The Rescue - Page 31

OCC:
Joe is now at 3HP. I still think you should go on without him. I will try to get him into a single adventure while the party moves on. It just isn't worth waiting for 6 more weeks for him to get better.

[camp] The Rescue
A Friend

Rescue camp

[Sir Remi after weighing out everyones concerns of his plans leaves to do his research, but returns disappointed as his efforts go without reward. He turns and watches Knight approach and admiration again registers in his eyes he listens to his words and turns slightly red, but none-the-less steps forward] "Sir, your gentle insult goes not unnoticed, you have but caught us at the very tail of our muster and soon we set out to attempt our task. We wished only to be not ill prepared for our venture so that we might begin to touch upon the glory of thine own exploits and thus return in victory."[Noticing the impatience that Knight has assumed Remi asks not any of the questions he would like to, but opts instead to wait for another time and a better mood]

OOC- I would recommend filling a spare set of clothing with leaves or other such rubbish that we find on the way. This will not work for a cloak however, but again we do not need all eight figures as some of us still need to be in camp to help maintain a the appearance of a real camp. Furthermore I feel that the vague shape of a cloak would not have the same virtue of believability that a suit of clothing would where one could identify arms and legs. Keep in mind that these figures will be inert, we probably shouldn't further reduce their detail. We might be spending a while collecting leaves though and the season might not be right for easy pickings- I'm just not sure
Also, we will need to spring the trap before they actually reach the camp because no matter what we do our figures are not going to fool anybody at close quarters. I figure to set up camp near to Death's Mouth and then take shelter in the canyon itself and wait for the bandits to ride through (if they attack camp from an unexpected direction then those left behind in camp will have to take up the horses and lead the bandits into the canyon). What do others think of this?

OOC: Aww, Joe... Well, a personal adventure would be fun! Just bummed to not have you in the group.

I agree that the dummies would have to be simply made -- rather than stuff bags with leaves, we can use our own gear, bags of oats for the horses, cloaks, etc. It doesn't have to be too realistic, because it will be dark anyway. "Live" folks in the camp, particularly on watch, will make it more real. Having at least two warriors in the camp and ready.

And speaking of horses, where will the horses be? All picketed near camp? Will we be able to reach them quickly and ride off in a hurry, if necessary?

In the meantime, Knight seems anxious for us to get moving. I wonder if "Lucy" in the tavern would have more information about the bandits for a gold piece?

IC: Sabina scowls from beneath her helmet and taps her foot impatiently. "All this talk of plans and schemes can be done whilst riding, fellows. Let us be off before we are replaced!" She stows her gear securely, once again, and mounts her horse, which can sense her excitement and nervously snorts and paces.

I agree it is time to move out. I will post this, unless I hear something to the contrary. I do not agree with camping inside the canyon though. I think that is too dangerous. First we never made it through to the other side, we were in the pass itself when we were attacked. Second, I believe it is likely the bandits will come out of the pass so if that is from whence they come, they would come across us before our fake camp. I don't think we need to have the dummies be too life like. I think lumps under bedding, which is why I keep mentioning a cloak will suffice. We need to respond before they get to the camp or our live members will be doomed so I don't think they will see anything. Now, I don't really know if I agree we need or should have live people in the camp. The only time they attacked us at night was when our guards fell asleep. So, why not just have a fake camp of all walkers, who all go to sleep. I say we keep our horses and essential gear with us. Also, let's be willing to throught this plan out, if we discover something better along they way. Knight has told us the key is to be observant so let's be sure what we observe gets completely unbiased attention. I think this is a good potential plan, but I don't think we should go off with this plan etched in stone.

I agree Nighthawk should remain home.

Now, it really is important that everyone check in at least once per day to at least say they agree with whatever is being discussed if they don't have any thing different to add.

IC- "I believe the plan to be well thought out and I also think we should think about it to much. Why not if it is too cumbersome go around death's mouth with an alternate route. If necessary I think the doubles will work well with a simple construction like the cloaks. The stuffed clothes are good too but too much thought to it might trigger obviousness as well."

OOC- I don't have a problem regardless orr the party order I just wish to go before others take our place as well.

OCC: Sabina and Ice are one mile ahead of us, they will have to say what they plan to do with these people.

IC: Sabina eyes the group in the woods, squinting slightly, and says quietly to Ice, "We should hail them, don't you think? Ride closer to talk with them briefly and see if they have seen anything of the Bandits through this area." She settles her helmet firmly on her head and keeps her horse close by Ice. She transfers the horse's reins to her left hand and readies her right hand to draw her sword.

I think it would be a good idea to hail them from a distance and see if they are friendly. We can ask them if they have seen anything or anyone out of the ordinary. At the first sign of trouble, we need to get back to the group since we are outnumbered and I don't want to be killed. But, hunters shouldn't be a problem.

IC:
Ice checks to be sure her bow and arrows are easily accessible, nods to Sabina and then calls out to the hunters. "Hello in the woods! Be ye hunters?"

Anyone else have any other thoughts, concerns or agreement?
