[camp] The Rescue - Page 37

Well, we ought to be able to stay up one night and still survive a battle. I plan for us each to get 3 hours sleep early tonight. I posted that sleep rotation earlier. I think yesterday or the day before.

If we are not attacked tonight, we will not be able to travel tomorrow, we will need to stay where we are and sleep during the day because we won't be able to stay awake tonight, tomorrow and then be alert if necessary tomorrow night.

Rescue camp

All right, I just posted to cover the night up until dawn unless trouble arrives. I hope what I posted is o.k. with everyone. No one told me what weapons they wanted to have with them, so I used my own discretion if you had more than one option. I wasn't sure what to do with the horses, leave them in camp or take them with so I took them with. I didn't dare delay any longer before posting to try to get answers to those questions.

Updated:

O.K. Nothing happened overnight. I say we need to rest until noon. Quickly eat a ration and then sleep in shifts. We could do the following: Ice, Mud, Remi, Daphne sleep until 9:00 a.m. Then Malice, Sabina, Kron and Cryroc sleep until 12:00. Then head south after a quick lunch. I don't think we can travel more than half a day right now with Remi's feet anyway.

Next question is do we try this plan again tonight or give up on it and wait for a daytime encounter?

OOC: We definitely can't afford to lose sleep another night. Unless we decide to sleep most of the day and try to plan an attack at night. I vote for getting as far South as we can today after resting up a bit, and of course eating.

I.C.- After dawn breaks Malice decides to do his daily training with his favored axe. Afterwards, being the chivalrous fellow he is he lets Ice take the first nap as he eats his first meal of the day. After stuffing his face he decides to check on everyone to see if they need any help with their supplies.

OOC- I suggest alternating naps in groups then a half walk pace for the groggier of the group.

Rescue camp

[Remi stands up stiffly when it becomes obvious that no attack is coming this night] (feel better in the morning? I feel as if I had been ran over by a horse and carriage.)[he looks down at his cloths that are now lightly soiled from a days journey] (and I look as though I"ve been drug through the mud.) [Remi listens to the discussion around camp as he attempts to brush off the filth that has become meshed into the fibers with limited success. Finally he shakes his head and replies] Patience, patience. We cannot expect immediate results, remember our bandits are stationed at Death's Mouth which is still some journey from us. They would have to have a large realm of influence indeed if they have time to attack every small encampment, but a days ride from the village. [At this point he temporarily ignores the dirt in his cloths to focus on the wrinkles instead which he tries to work out] Our efforts this night are not wasted, however as we have now gathered the materials we need for our plan and have completed a rehearsal. [He nods in the direction of Kron] I agree with you that we cannot do this every night the toll upon us would be considerable. Let us concentrate on our journey as Kron suggests and make another attempt when we are well rested and closer to the bandits refuge.
Those who have visited Death's Mouth before would know better than I, but I worry that for the purposes of this ruse that conditions and terrain will not be in our favor. If we choose to attempt this plan again there may be no convenient place to hide the horses and we would have little choice but to leave them in camp.

OOC- Hey thanks for rallying around my character guys-- it makes me happy.
In case there isn't alot of rubbish to be had around Death mouth perhaps we should pack what we gathered last night. What do you think.

OOC: Good idea, I'm guessing the there isn't going to be much life around anything with a name like deaths mouth. I think we should take some just to make sure, but I don't want to be bogged down by leaves and sticks.

Good point about no materials near Death's Mouth.

I have posted to party order. If you guys aren't already doing this, it might be good for you to read those posts. You will then see the stuff I end up adding that I have to decide on my own. That way it might help you decide what kind of stuff to include in your camp posts to prevent me from making the wrong decisions regardng your character. Plus, I won't have to be the only one making those kinds of decisions. I am afraid I am going to make a bad decision, and I don't want to be responsible for someone else being injured or killed.

We are now near Death's Mouth. Do we just get a normal night's sleep with two hour shifts of two people each on guard, or do we dare try our scheme again tonight? Do you think we are well rested enough?

I figure we have three options. Try again tonight, sleep tonight and try tomorrow night, don't try again and consider entering Death's Mouth.

If we opt to try tonight, we may be too tired to fight properly. If we wait until tomorrow night, we may be observed tomorrow and they will know it is only a trap. If we choose to enter Death's Mouth, I think the walkers will be annialated.

I think, at the very least we must look around for places where we can take some sort of cover in case of battle so I will at least post that so that we can be prepared if we are attacked.

Maybe we should spend the early evening tonight just looking in the immediate area for such protection to be prepared in case we are attacked tonight, plan a regular night's sleep and then if we have no problems overnight, spend the next day sending out scouting parties to check the surrounding area for a place to lay our "trap" tomorrow night.

This time when you post, please give your thoughts on all the plans and any thing specific you think your character should do, like which weapon you favor, etc.
