Arvhic Introduction - Page 3

Arvhic, congrats on being voted as Member of the Month of November, 2005 - well deserved as your posts have been thought provoking and for some like your good buddy Nighthawk, just plain provoking - keep it up! The relevant FP has been deposited into your account.

Introduction Arvhic

Arvhic, I just read your posts on the Iraq thread and also Nighthawk's. I am a bit concerned about how personal you all are getting at each other. This is not "healthy". I welcome a heated discussion where we all can learn from each other but I think the issue is starting to get a bit out of hand and getting too personal which is not the purpose of a discussion. We also communicate some of these thoughts to Nighthawk, (just to let you know, you are not the only one). Both of you are VERY intelligent people and VERY knowledgable and are a great assets to the community, we hope you all can work this out in the best manner possible without causing all this distress and unwanted remarks towards each other. Thanks for your understanding.

Arvhic, I have some questions for you, if you do not mind...

1. Do you get my Emails? If so, why have you not replied?
2. What is your status now? Have you moved as you said before? Do you have your own connection or still limited to Cafes?
3. Have you thought about giving some input in our Feedback section?

Page 3 Introduction Arvhic

Hi guys,

I am so sorry, I didn't even realise people post to this thread, I will make sure I check it in the future.

Actually it is quite good timing as I will find it difficult to post over the next couple of months for the same reason as before.

This is the situation:

My partner, who is Swedish, has been coming to Australia, to and fro, for over a year now. She has spent about half of her time here and half back home. When she is here we live alone in an apartment we rent. It is too much trouble to connect and reconnect the Internet at the apartment for short periods each time, so during this period I use the internet at work. As journalists the internet is a very valuable tool, but they monitor our use to make sure that we are using it for work purposes. I don't really get a great deal of free time anyway. I could use internet cafes, but because I only see her for a limited time I like to spend as much time as possible with her.

When she is away I take the opportunity to stay with my family in Sydney, who are pretty close to my work. They have the internet at home, which gives me a lot more time to visit this discussion board.

I will actually be going on a holiday up the coast tomorrow (Thursday evening Australian time) and after that I will be moving back out with Hanna for a couple of months.

I have not actually considered using the feedback section, I might check it out though. What sort of input can I offer?

Thanks on the vote for member of the month, yet again this is the first I am hearing about this, but it is appreciated.

I am sorry if my threads became a bit heated about Iraq. I guess I am very passionate about Iraq. It is an area of interest to me and I have done quite a bit of research and writing on this subject in the past. It was nothing personal and I apologise for any distress my remarks may have caused.

Thanks for your reply. Your intro thread is one of the most valuable sources of information for both yourself and us, so you may wish to track it so that the instant a message is posted you will get notification of it in your Email, which I imagine is up to date?

With regards to your trip(s) - all the best. You can please feel free to check in every now and again to let us know how you are going. You may even want to consider inviting your lady so we can get more input from a different angle about you wink.gif.

Lastly, since you have a lot of Fp you may wish to consider buying a Political Control Panel, that is the box that appears in my posts within the Political Discussion Boards. All the best to you.

After reading your latest conversations here I stumbled onto this thread and was curious if you had any experience flying with Qantas Airlines. Could you share a review with us here if you have?
