For this to work effectively one must first know that the one to whom he asks for refuge is also of the Order. Then upon this verify that the one asked knows the place allocated for sanctuary so that you can be led or directed there without delay.
Usually each city, town or village has a place set up as a sanctuary where you can hide if needs be. Often you will be asked why you wish to hide and since this is not an obligatory oath the person might not have to give you assistance since hiding (as in the case of committing a crime) is not the same as protection where people may want to kill you.
